HAPPY BIRTHDAY FELICIA!

Dee and Felicia 2005.
Granni* with her grandaughters in 2005.

I am two days late. Please forgive me Mom. I've been up to my thighs in snow out there! Everywhere I drive I have to factor in extra time to account for driving 15 mph on the ice to wherever I want to go. Every afternoon Richard and I go out and try to break up the ice on the driveway and shovel it out of the way. One day, the day I was taking your birthday card to the post office, on our way home form the dentist in Orem the light snow turned into a blizzard. There was slush on the freeway (which is NOT a good thing!) and the wind was so strong that I called it quits and slogged home. Another day I spent layed up on my massage mat trying to get the kinks out of my shoulders from shoveling ice chunks! These are all excuses for why my time got eaten up but they are pititful indeed!

I want to wish the mother of my husband a belated Happy Birthday along with hopes for a wonderful year to come! I love her because she is fun AND funny! She always brings Estee Lauder, Clinique, and sweet smelling things. She makes amazing dishes that are new and unique. I still remember the vegetarian lasgna and the marvelous tamale casserole! One of these days I am going to make them! She is drawn like a magnet to the bakery in Smith's every time they come for a visit. Yes! Cake! Boston Cream! (What was that cardboard-y thing you got at Albertson's last time? Remember how we all laughed so hard?) Mom loves animals...all of God's creatures! She has taken in many lost kitties over the years and some who we thought might just be playing her, having more than one home with luscious goodies to eat! She donates to groups who save wildlife. She is animated and tells interesting stories. She loves her family fiercely. She had part in raising this amazing man I am married to! I will always be grateful for that.

So...even though it is late...I love you Mom and I thank you for all you have done for me over the years, especially for loving and accepting me as part of your family! Eat Cake!!

My goodness that is some serious snow. I'm so sorry that you are having that much snow. That much snow goes beyond having a little fun in the snow.

Happy Birthday to Dee's Mom. She must be a great lady to have such a wonderful son!!!

Such a cute picture of your girls and their Granni, oh and Dee's picture is cute too. We hear every night on the News about all the snow you are having up there...just continue to drive slow or maybe don't drive at all!! That's what I would have to do. Hang in there, Spring is on it's way.

A VERY Happy Birthday to Felicia!!! I will NEVER forget the welcoming, gracious woman who was so sweet to me in UT. I mean she had a HUGE Thanksgiving dinner for my "bridal luncheon" the day before my wedding... with all the Ellsworth's! A very lovely woman who did, indeed, raise a fabulous son in Deward.

Marianne... there is an AWESOME shovel at Home Depot I highly recommend. It's a regular shovel but it's completely flat with a flat edge. Hit the edge of that ice on the driveway and it chips away like you wouldn't believe!! Wish I were there so you could use mine, or so I could go shop with you to get one for you!

Marianne, Don't feel any pressure to pass on that award. It WAS hard to do all that for someone like me who doesn't have good computer skills but I was able to figure it out. I just copied and pasted the "rules" (Control c then Control v) and then there's a "link" icon at the top of the New Post page, just highlight the person's name in the post, then click on the "link" icon and a little screen will come up and you type in their blog address. It's all really a PAIN, so I'm sorry but I did want to recognize some of my blogging friends who have especially uplifting things to say and you are one of them. So like I said, don't do it unless you just want a challenge. I love your blog and just wanted you to know it.
