Projects and Fun!

I have had some fun recently making custom aprons for some college sports fans! This apron was commissioned by a friend for his dear friend who is a devout University of South Carolina Gamecocks fan. Their colors are garnet and black. James said his friend was an amazing cook who could pull off any meal or recipe with style and he wanted her to have a pretty apron.

This apron I just finished this weekend for a BYU Swim Mom.She has two sons who swim for BYU and wanted their names on the pockets. I love this one! I hope she does!

This apron was ordered by a friend I made at the Farmer's Market. She bought one for her daughter in San Diego, who loved it so much she wanted one for her nanny. I love these colors she chose!

I have owned this chair for about two years. I got it at a local thrift store for $20. I fell in love with the curves and the pretty much raw wood that would paint up easily. The poor chair waited patiently. I recently got a burst of energy, sanded her down, and gave her 2 coats of cream colored paint.
She waits some more because I want to get some antique glaze to go in the carvings and then cover her with some clear coat. I am also looking for just the right fabric to cover her seat. A lady has to have her seat covered!

You can see the paint on the left leg and the front, while the right leg isn't painted yet.

The reason my lovely chair has to wait is that I get to go on an adventure this week! I have the great opportunity to go to Toronto and be with my Sarah when she receives her doctoral degree! I am so grateful for the chance to do this and the blessing that gave us the money to buy the plane ticket! Prayers are answered in amazing ways.

I'll be taking lots of pictures, some of which I'll post on Instagram along the way. if you want to follow along my Instagram user name is marianneloose.
I'll have a nice blog post for you when I get back!

Wow, those aprons are fantastic! I'm trying to pick a favorite, but I think for me it's a tie between BYU and USC!

Have a wonderful trip! Your chair is so pretty - can't wait to see her all finished!
