When life Gets Too Busy...

...Get Busier! Oy! I cannot tell you how happy I was to see last week go away! My life has gone from easy-going, relaxed summer days to scheduled and busy. The one thing on my schedule I really love and choose to do above all else is visit Lucas at the hospital. He is still growing and coming along but it is a slow process. His Mommy and I visit him twice a day for nursing practice and he is getting really good at it! He is also up in weight! 6 pounds 1.9 ounces as of last night. Hooray!

Between hospital visits I tried to increase my inventory for the Farmer's Market. It was very frustrating because sewing frilly aprons takes time. I had already missed two markets by choice because I didn't have time to build up the inventory. Now it was either buckle down and sew, or call it quits, which I didn't want to do. My dear husband found me in a teary heap on our bed one night and bless him, he took matters into his own hands. Every night after that he came straight home from work, cooked dinner, cleaned it up, made sure Richard got his homework done, ran errands, etc.. I was able to finish five new aprons which was such a relief! The Market last Friday was very successful. I sold 7 aprons and numerous crocheted items. Now I am in the same boat, needing to sew more, and Dee has taken over again. I love him so much!

Oh, and I bottled tomatoes. Call me a nut, but I was raised by frugal parents who where teens during the Great Depression. They remember what it was like and they lived their whole lives making sure we were not wasteful. When our tomato vines started going nuts two weeks ago I started feeling the guilt of seeing those tomatoes on the ground. So...

The chilies were going crazy too. Salsa time!

Slippery skins & steamy pots!

Five hours and 26 pints later I felt less wasteful but oh, so tired!

I think I felt my Dad smiling down on me!

You are one amazing lady. I sure wish we lived closer. I'd love to have helped you out. I think you have one fantastic awesome husband. I love how these wonderful husbands see a need and jump in and help out where they are needed.

I'm so glad that Lucas is doing better. We will keep on praying for him and sweet parents and grandparents.

Good luck at your market. I hope you have another successful weekend.

Love you all,

I keep checking your blog everyday hoping that Lucas is home...any day now, I'm sure. He sure is a cutie. I'm very impressed with all your canning. I wish I was better at it. I've got apricot jam down really good but that's about it, we just eat our tomatoes as fast as we can!

You make it look so easy. I can't tell you how much bravery it takes for me to can.

I can't even believe how hard you worked on all the sewing and the canning! Amazing!

I'm pretty sure we have the same salad spinner. I use that thing every day!
