Book Ends~

I am happy to announce that we are all well from the stomach flu. For a week and a half someone in this house was miserable. Sarah and I were the last to come down with it and it hit poor Sarah quite hard. Happily we were all well for a visit from my little sis, Gena and her daughter Emily. Miss Em has taken a brave step and moved away from hearth and home to come to BYU! Parting was especially hard for her because this is the first time in nearly 20 years that she has ever lived away from her twin sister Allison. I am confident that in about a week, after she has settled into a new routine, the Emily will love living in Provo and being a Cougar!

Last week I was coming into the family room and I noticed my loving son giving his big sister Sarah a hug. Richard has grown quite a bit these last few months. Sarah is my tallest daughter at 5' 8" and has been dreading the day that her brother caught up with her. I made them stand back-to-back and couldn't believe the day had come.

Hard to believe!

Kind of makes me wish for these days...
1995-Richard learning to walk.

Time goes much to quickly. I often call Sarah and Richard my bookends. The oldest and the youngest, you know. We have so enjoyed Sarah's visit (other than the sick week) and will miss her very much when she heads back to Toronto on Tuesday.

Hope you are all recovering from the holidays and are well too!

Ohhh, nooo! The dreaded stomach flu of horrible-ness! So, so sorry. :(

My 16-year-old baby is taller than everyone in the family, including his Dad Face!

SO glad to hear that everyone is well there! I have thought of you all often hoping that you all were well. SO exciting to see these kiddos grow up and sad too at the same time. Blake is SO upset that Conner is almost as tall as he is. Blake is convinced that he hit his growth spurt early and now he is done growing (he may be right-who knows). I'm glad that Sarah was able to come home and have a nice visit (minus the sick part). I am also excited for Emily to be a Cougar. She will love it.

Take Care,
JoLynn

I, for one, am very grateful the stomach flu had passed your family. And thank you so much for posting that lovely "I've been in the car for 7 hours and don't I look like it?" picture. Oh, well, I don't look much different from that most of the time :P And THANK YOU for all of you supporting my little bookend in her big step. HEY! You also supported my big bookend. Points in heaven for the Loose house!!

ps. tugging of the heartstrings with your yesteryear bookend pic. sigh...

I showed Michael the picture of Richard and Sarah, all he had to say was "dang!"

I'm glad everyone's feeling better!

I always feel slightly jealous when I see pics of Gena and family visiting! I always wish Michael and I could be there too!

I'm glad the family is doing better. We've been sick down here too...not me but almost everyone else...Jim, Brent, Kami, all the Hyde kids. Our granddaughter, Allie, calls this the "sick" season and I guess she's right. I'm so happy to hear there's another Cougar in the family...YAY Emily! She must be a bright and intelligent girl because not just "anyone" can get into BYU...hehehe. Good luck to her, I'm sure she'll be glad to have family nearby.
