Nesting?

On long winter nights I like to pull out my yarn and  crochet hooks. It keeps my hands and tired mind occupied while we wade through mindless television. I have grown tired of the usual hats, scarves, fingerless gloves, and afghans. I looked up free patterns on the Lion Brand Yarn website. What a treasure trove! I found an interesting new word:

Amigurumi (編みぐるみ^?, lit. knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.^[1] Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features.^[2]

<sup>Ami-goo-roo-mee is how I say it. It is fun and fast. I can usually finish a project in one or two nights.

Diana asked Brittany (as if I weren't right there in the room) "Why is Mom making all of these baby toys? Is she nesting?"
She asked as if it would be wrong, whatever nesting means! 

I thought it over. I do not think a woman approaching a hysterectomy in 17 days is nesting. So there!
