Ugly No More!

Remember this guy? It's my $30 yard sale find (well, actually, Dee found it and made me get out of bed and walk across the street to buy it because he had to go to work, the nerve!). It was ugly and out-dated to be sure, but I had  a vision and wanted to try to bring it forward a few decades.

My men worked hard and sand it well.

Richard helped me paint it a high gloss Behr paint, color "Beluga". It's the same color as my front door which needs re-painting so no paint was wasted in the renovation of this desk! We found a set of two steel drawer pulls at IKEA on sale for $2.95 then took two weeks to put them on! I had to go to Home Depot twice, once to get the right length screws; the drawers are very thick up front. Then a second time because IKEA sells metric screws...not US standard! Just for future reference!

Not bad, huh?
Don't you love a deal?!

Next project?
I did something I have never done before last week...
I dumpster dived!
Can it be saved?
I'll keep you informed!
Notice the extra legs back there? Sam is so nosey!

Holy Cow! This desk looks brand new and beautiful. I could see it had potential from the beginning but your vision of it turned out just perfect. It's nice to have strong men to help with the "heavy lifting" stuff too. You guys make a great team. Keep up the good work!

I love it! It looks like you could have gone and picked it out at a store. Brilliant! Excited to see what's to come! :)

Very good . . . I really like it a lot. Can't wait to see the dumpster diving diva at work on the next project. Make sure you take pictures. I love Sam . . . I've told you this before, but I want that little guy!
