Funny, Funny Granni!

Life is so fun when we can laugh at ourselves! We had a nice visit this last week with Dee's parents, Bob & Felicia. They came from their home in Washington to see my Sweetie receive his Master's degree. They are always fun to have around, there's never a dull moment! Bob, or "Papa", likes to be up and at 'em early every day. He gets in walks and swimming workouts and looks very fit since his heart attack last winter. Felicia, or "Granni", always has fun tales to tell and comes equipped with Estee Lauder and fun tote bags. (She just happens to be the most AMAZING Estee Lauder sales associate in the Pacific Northwest...maybe the world!) She also likes to cook and bake fun things (like Key Lime pie on this visit); and she loves to go shopping. When she heard us talk about our favorite candle and home decor outlet, "For Every Body" on Geneva Road in Lindon, she just had to go! She and Papa came out of the place with a big box full of many large, sweet smelling candles for only $20! Seriously, if you are ever in Utah Valley you must go!

Anyway...as we were getting ready to leave for the outlet she could not find her sunglasses. She and Papa looked high and low for them with no luck. As we all headed out to our car she suddenly remembered where she last saw them. She ran back into the house and came out with her shades in her hands. When she got out of the car in Lindon I noticed that the glasses looked a bit different than I remembered but I figured she had more than one pair. She wore them into the store and on our driving tour of monster houses in Alpine afterward. When we arrived at home she walked into the house and was greeted by her three grandsons. Conner looked up from the computer and asked, "Granni, why are you wearing 3-D glasses?!" She quickly pulled them off and saw that they were indeed not her own sunglasses but that she had accidentally picked up a pair of Britt's 3-D's from a recent trip to the theater! She was horrified and said "Oh good heavens! I have been everywhere today wearing these things!"

She kindly posed for me. I told her it would make a great blog story. We all had a good laugh and I assured her they looked sort of like a pair of Raybans! What do you think?

Bless her heart, it sounds like something I would do! But it's a small sacrifice to pay to get to indulge at For Every Body. I have my beloved "Tomato, Cherry, Basil" burning even as I type!

ps. YEA, DEE!!! Marianne, the pictures were gorgeous! Your children should indulge their Mommy because they all look good!

I'd agree they look like some Ray Bans. I don't know her at all but she kind of reminds me of my Grandma Nancy. She seems very cute and sylish! Fun ladies!

This story is so hilarious! So something my mother would have done. How nice for Dee to have his parents beable to attend his graduation, a wonderful day for everyone, I'm sure. We loved the beautiful weather in Utah Co. while we were there, a little like heaven!! Now we are back in the heat of St. George but still nice to be home. Next week we'll be headed back up there for our reunion in Midway, so we'll get a little more of that heavenly weather. Thanks for the mention of a new store for me to visit while I'm there!!

Who is that woman in those Foster Grants . . . well she is so beautiful that no one is really looking at the glasses.
