...in Progress

This is our bathroom as it appeared in 2001 when we bought our house. I loved it! The paint job was custom (the previous owner hired someone to do it) and the wallpaper border was not cheesy but actually nice. (I love hydrangeas.) Over the 8 years we have lived here the paint has gotten dingy and the corners were dinged up so it was time to paint. It took awhile to choose a color. Once I started to paint it looked too blue and cool. The man at Home Depot did just as Gena suggested and added some"C" or beige tones to it one drop at a time. After about four drops and a lot of shaking of the can...I have my own custom color!
My nifty son-in-law fulfilled a wish of mine by opening up the wall in our phone booth of a shower! It lets in so much light and I don't feel claustrophobic anymore! It also lets out a lot of steam which is good since the builder didn't think a venting fan was necessary. (whatever!)

Before...
After!
Let there be light! Thanks Nick!

I found some towel hooks and a matching towel bar for mere dollars at an outlet store in Lindon.

A little cheap decor from my Ross store!

Future valances from a wholesale fabric website! Time to get my old friend
the sewing machine busy again!
To come in the future...painting the stock oak vanity black and adding fun knobs, white bead board wainscot, and someday a new counter top and white tile shower walls!
After I get the rest of the border down and finish the painting I'll take a few shots
of the whole room. Gotta go get busy!

A very cute new project! I especially love the "hole" in the shower wall, a very bold move but with an awesome outcome. I also really like the new hooks and towel bar. Can't wait to see the finished product. Don't you just love springtime, it really gets us moving and fixing up!!
