TImeTravel Tuesdays~Ancestry.com Free!

Hey you guys!! I am taking a little trip. I'll be gone for a bit, but I'll be back and posting in two weeks. I won't be gone that entire time, but I need time to get ready. Are you like me? Do you feel like you need to leave things in good order and clean before you leave? You're not? Lucky you! So...there will be no Time Traveling next Tuesday, but come back the week after and I'll tell you all about my journey and what we were up to! I have already begun writing that post, in fact it's nearly done! Which wonderful ancestor will you be learning about next? You'll just have to come back and see!

I have a free account on www.ancestry.com. If you go there and search for your parent, you should find this. I have made a pedigree chart of photos for all of the ancestors whom I have photos for. I tried, where possible to use Senior pictures for my parents, siblings and I as well as my own children. We were all much younger and thinner then! If you click on thepicture below, it will enlarge and you can see it better.

If you've never been to Ancestry, I encourage you to go. They have been and are now free to use up to a point. If you want to get in and actually see the copy of the 1830 census in which you might find your great-great Grandpa's family and get some needed answers to some genealogical question, you must PAY a monthly membership fee. I think it's something like $34.95!  It's been frustrating because they do have copies of lots of cool things like ship's manifests and so on. Well, beginning in June-July of this year if you are a regular user of the Church website www.familysearch.org, you can use Ancestry.com's resources for FREE!  Furthermore, by special agreement with the LDS Church, ALL members should be able to use Ancestry for free by this December! That is Free From Now On! Forever!

Hastening the work, much?

 I wanted to show you Annie Dean Ellsworth's pedigree line. All you have to do is click on her photo in the above chart when you are on the website, then chose her own tree and the chart below will pop up. If you go up to the left you'll see my third great grandfather, Thomas Dean. For years and years this is where the line stopped for us.

Thanks to records indexing and the computer age (I'm certain!) there have been a few more generations uncovered. Those Deans! They stuck right to that little Flaunden village for a few centuries!

We now end at Francis Dean born in 1708. As you can see, we don't have any other names from that generation, and that's just the Deans! You can click on each of those people above Annie and see how far back that person's line goes and where they came from. 

Mainly not too far away, like the neighboring county of Buckinghamshire.

I urge you to go there! Get to know these people! They lived, they loved, they had dreams for their children and maybe even wondered what you and I would be like many hundreds of years later. They need us to find their parents, spouses and children so that we can all be one great big family together. It is SO easy now. I am learning more all by myself every time I sit down at my computer! I am excited! See you soon!
