Bright and early on October 30th Lucas' moving crew got into action. Three ladies in his life, his Mom, Auntie Britt,, and his Gramma piled into a fully loaded minivan along with the two grandbirdies, Evie & Augie and headed south. The drive was long but didn't seem so bad with stops every three hours to meet the little man's feeding needs. The birds did remarkably well. We were all worried whether it would be too stressful for them to be in a new, tiny cage between the middle seats, bouncing along I-15. They were in a bit of shock at first but after a few hundred miles the were stating to chirp, move around, and eat! Whew!
We arrived in the San Diego area after dark, but having lost an hour on the trip it was only about 8:00. Daddy Nick was anxiously waiting and scooped his little son right out of the car. We unloaded the back of the van (who groaned and sighed as we lightened her load) and collapsed in the apartment. Lucas was SO happy to be out of that infernal car seat!
Halloween day dawned bright and warm in sunny CA. I looked out the window and saw palm trees and my heart was happy. As a little girl in Mesa, I loved palms. I could never figure out why my Dad wouldn't plant any. Maybe because you had to scale them to keep them trimmed up right. A small sacrifice for a Dad, I think! We spent the morning unpacking boxes and helping Diana get settled. Lucas had not seen the last of his car seat, however!
His Momma changed him out of his little skeleton jammies, (so CUTE!)...
...put his little shoes on his feet, the first time I had ever seen him wear them,...
SERIOUSLY GUYS?? The car seat, AGAIN?
Oh yes young man, because we are on the road again!
Where to?
Think of a wonderful thought, any happy little thought...
That's right!! Brittany's Disneyland on Halloween dream came true!
It was really so FUN! I felt twinges of guilt being there without the rest of the gang but, oh well!
It was the best!! If you trick-or-treat at Disneyland you get WAY more candy than you'll ever need. The Haunted Mansion was all Jack Skelllington, so cool!
Did I mention
NO LINES?
It was Mickey's Halloween Party and if you didn't have a party bracelet you had to leave the park at 3:00. The BEST! We walked onto nearly every ride, and Nick and Diana were offered a second time around on Splash Mountain because there was nobody waiting to get on when they were done!
We were all so tired but so happy!
This old girl could hardly walk the next morning but we had more to see, more to do!
Stay tuned!

I had mixed emotions just reading about it.
Disneyland...is truly the happiest place on earth. I love it there. it must have been wonderful spending your sweet babies first Disneyland trip with him...however then to have to leave him and come all the way back home without him. My heart breaks for you.
my advice...just wrap Uncle Dee up all tight and cozy in a blanket and cuddle with him...he does have such a sweet baby face afterall. :)
Love you guys.
I felt like Kami reading this post. I had mixed emotions also. I am so glad that you guys got to have a fun time at Disneyland. I am going to have to remember that Halloween is a good day to go to Disneyland for no lines. I am so sad that you had to leave sweet Lucas, oh and Diana and Nick too:)
Oh, such fun cuteness!
Our little Zoey had the exact same skeleton jammies!
I've never seen a happier ghost than that Mickey one! And the castle - wow!
