And So I Sew...!

I have had moderate success with my aprons on Etsy and in the boutique. Everyone said, "just wait until gift giving season. I am sure they will sell like hot cakes!" Yesterday I took my inventory (everything not on Etsy) to the Bliss Boutique for the December boutique. That place was crazy! Women were parked outside waiting for it to open. The checkout line was a mile long the entire time I was there! They were grabbing necklaces, scarves, kid's clothes, headbands, etc. Ladies were even asking about my aprons! I think this is why...

It is a link to a spot on Studio 5, a local daily talk show. Sweet Brittany believed in my work and paid the fee (against my wishes) to have the apron's on the spot. The power of advertising should not be underestimated!

As I left the boutique with a few purchases of my own I was amazed by the weight that was off of my shoulders. I had been sewing like crazy to have some holiday aprons ready and I was so glad to be done. I was not planning on sewing again until the new year...gladly! I thought, "Yes! Now I have time to clean my house and wrap some presents!"

I had a nice couple of hours!  Half of my inventory sold and a lady ordered 6 more aprons in a particular style and color for her grand daughters. She would like them within the next week or so.
My new motto is:

Blessings come is every form. I could use the extra cash right now! Keep calm...

Hang in there!

Marianne I am so glad you had some success with your apron project. Keep up the good work. If you want it too it may grow into a big thing for you.I had my consultation with the Botox Doctor, but haven't heard back about when it will be done. So I just take each day as it come. I am getting so used to this I can't even remember what a pain free life is like. Oh well. Who better for it to happen to? I can take it better than a lot of people. I can just hear
daddy saying, "She's a tough old Bird" Love you Momma

I couldn't help but smile at your mom's comment, she's so cute. I think your aprons are darling and I'm happy for the success you are having with your business. It must be very satisfying to beable to create something that others want (to buy). I hope to see them in person someday soon and choose one for myself.
