A Visit from Papa & Granni!

Dee's parents, Bob & Felicia (or Papa & Granni, as they are known by 12 great kids) came to visit us last week. They brought Colleen's son James with them and Alicia's son Conner joined us too. He had spent some time in Salt Lake visiting his Dad and they came to bring him home. We had a good time just visiting, playing cards, and eating!! Some of us went to the Church Museum of History and Art west of Temple Square one day. That is always a great experience. I especially was moved by the Pioneer exhibit since we are so close to the 24th of July. I felt quite a connection to my covered wagon and handcart ancestors who came before me so that I could have the gospel and live in this beautiful place. It took great faith on their parts and I admire them so! We also enjoyed a picnic in a park in Alpine just north of home. It was a gorgeous night and so nice to get out of the heat of the day.The kids went exploring and found a stream to wade in and our H2O paranoid dog surprised us all by hopping the rocks and wading right through it! A good time was had by all. The only sad part of the week was that Dee was away again at Sectional Championships in Gresham, Oregon. He arrived home from Oregon on Sunday evening and was able to visit with his Mom and Dad before they left the next morning. The house is always so quiet after company leaves! Especially if it is people you love!

I want to visit you some time when there aren't any pressing needs on us and go do fun things too! I'm glad you all had such a good time. Are any of us making it to NM?

Smooches, Gena
