All I Want For Mother's Day...

My flower beds are full of weeds. I would love for them to magically disappear. I know I can count on my two men to help me with this gift tomorrow. In fact, I am looking forward to it! I splurged this year and purchased some "Preen" to keep those weedy weeds from coming back too. I'll let you know if it works.

In other Mother news: We have four maple trees on the side of our house. They sit in the parking strip along the sidewalk. The one closest to the front is housing a delightful surprise!

I just about squealed when I got close enough to see these sweet eggs! And "how" you might ask was I able to get such a good shot? Observe...

The nest is directly over Sarah's right hand in the crotch of the tree!

Sarah and Richard searched for the parents.

Here is the proud Papa! Tell me, Mr. Robin. Why did you put your nest so low in the tree? Now we worry about the safety of your babies day and night!

I'll let you know if those pretty blue eggs hatch anytime soon.

In the meantime...we'll be pulling weeds!

I love those little blue eggs. Man you and Nancy have such fun things going on at your places. I'll be waiting and watching for the little birdy update. Also good luck to you and your flower garden. I love flowers!

Oh no, not you too! I tell you I worry more about these birds than I ever did about my children. We have been on "cat watch" for a few days now and so far, so good, but it's time consumming and causes me great stress. Our nest is also very low, it's just above waist high on me and right outside our kitchen window. I could just reach out and touch the nest from inside my house if we didn't have a screen. According to what I have read, our eggs should begin hatching any day now and they say it takes about 4 days for the hatching process to be complete. I shudder to think of the stress I will experience while all of this is going on. It's nice to know I won't be alone and that we can share this grandparenting experience together. BTW, I love the blue eggs, ours are boring white but still quite cute.

Oh that is so amazing. I have a nest right above my parking space at work and I believe that mother bird is getting annoyed at me that I come to work every day and park there. Ummm, it's my assigned space sista! Wish I could see inside the nest. Those little eggs in your nest are so dang sweet. Hope you get a shot of the babies when they are born.
